Anesthesia 101 – for Patients and the General Public

Do you know there are different types of anesthesia you can receive during your procedures?
Do you know the effects of anesthesia and the risks of undergoing a surgery with anesthesia?
And do you know all the different members of your anesthesia team?

The American Society of Anesthesiologists has put together useful information for the general public. To learn more about the types, effects and risks of anesthesia and to better understand the role of the Physician Anesthesiologist as the medical expert leading your care, click the link below to visit the ASA’s Anesthesiology 101 webpages.

Physician anesthesiologists are highly skilled medical doctors who dedicate their lives on patient safety in all anesthesia practice settings. We are the physicians personally responsible for your comfort and well-being before, during, and after your procedure. We are the experts involved in your childbirth labor pain, major transplantations, open heart surgeries, as well as treating pain.

Simply put, we are the physicians who make sure you and your loved ones stay comfortable and alive during surgeries.
