| Florida Medical Association Annual Meeting Updates Paul Anderson, MD I want to thank everyone who took time out of their schedules to attend the Florida Medical Association (FMA) Annual Meeting held last weekend. It was a great success. Dr. Steve Minear did an excellent job defending our emergency Anesthesiologist Assistant resolution, which was subsequently adopted. This will help us prepare for the upcoming legislative session. Special thanks to Dr. Brence Sell for chairing the Finance and Administration Reference Committee, and a big congratulations to Dr. Chuck Chase, the new FMA Vice President. Dr. Roger Duncan will be representing District F, and Dr. Hector Villa will continue serving as the Board of Medicine Representative. Our FSA President, Dr Jared Weiner, attended the speicalty meeting at this year’s FMA Annual Meeting, representing FSA with his continued advocacy and leadership. As a group, we continue to make meaningful inroads at the FMA and FMA PAC. We received recognition for our $10,000 donation to the PAC at the House of Delegates. Dr. Chase even attempted to auction off a beautiful Ford Expedition for $9000 for the PAC. I am unaware of the final auction results of this truly priceless automobile, but if anyone else needs this vintage gem, please reach out. Dr. Fier continues to represent us on the FMA PAC Board, where he now serves as Chair of the 1000+ Club. Our profession will be well represented at multiple levels.
