FSA Wins a 2023 ASA Component Recognition Award

by FSA Webmaster

August, 2023

The FSA received a Component Recognition Award for 2023 from the ASA – this award program recognizes state societies that successfully implement innovative projects or initiatives that promote advocacy, professional development or member engagement.

The initiative FSA submitted for consideration fell under the category of Advocacy – a geo-fencing campaign launched in Tallahassee during the 2022 legislative session. This was a targeted campaign of pre-roll videos – 15 and 30-second advertisements for FSA that preceded videos on YouTube – promoting the importance of safe, physician-led anesthesia care. The campaign geographically targeted the Capitol and surrounding area in Tallahassee (the “Legislative Capitol Bubble”) and played several weekdays during the Legislative Session, including the two days that FSA was at the capitol meeting with legislators.

The videos can be watched here: the 15-second and 30-second versions. As a 2023 winner, FSA will receive a $1,500 prize to be used towards supporting new or continuing member engagement programs and initiatives.

Big thanks go to Steve Vancore and Karen Garner of VancoreJones Communications, our PR firm. Steve and Karen were instrumental in putting together the videos and geo-fencing plan!
